TOTEM Desk — Help

Quick notes on how the app is laid out and what to do when something looks wrong.

What this app is for

TOTEM Desk is a set of calculators for personal study and planning. You enter the numbers yourself—position size, P&L, dividends, simple valuation models, risk metrics, and a few related tools. The app runs the math on your device and shows the result. It is meant for learning and rehearsal, not as a substitute for a broker, tax preparer, or any licensed professional.

Main tabs

Desk — pick a calculator from the grouped list. Search at the top if you already know the name. Tap a category header to expand or collapse it. Orange highlight means that group is open.

Lab — extra workflows: Trade Plan (one screen with sizing and P&L preview), Scenario Lab (group runs and notes), and What-If Compare (two sides side by side).

Library — templates you saved from calculators, preset chips, and calculation history. Swipe a history row to delete or share the text.

Settings — light / dark / system appearance, desk intro replay, and a short streak readout.

Inside a calculator

Open any tool, fill the fields, and scroll for results. The ⋯ menu in the top bar lets you pin the tool to Desk, save a template, save to history (with an optional note), attach a run to a scenario, open formula notes, or share result text. Preset chips above the inputs reload a saved set of numbers for that calculator.

Trade plans and scenarios

In Trade Plan, name the plan, add optional notes, and fill entry, stop, and size fields. Results update as you type. Save once when you are happy. You can attach photos from the camera or library to a plan or scenario folder—useful for chart screenshots or handwritten notes you already have.

Scenario Lab holds multiple calculator snapshots under one title. Good when you are comparing a few runs for the same idea without mixing them into general history.

Appearance not changing?

Go to Settings → Appearance and pick System, Light, or Dark. The whole app should follow that choice. If one screen looks stuck, close TOTEM Desk completely and open it again. Also check the display settings on your device if the system theme looks wrong everywhere.

History or templates missing

Saved items live in the app’s storage on that device. If you removed the app and installed it again, earlier saves are usually gone. Restoring from an iPhone backup may bring data back depending on when the backup was taken.

Share sheet shows nothing useful

Share exports plain text from the result block. Run the calculation first so there is output to copy. If nothing useful appears in the share list, try saving to a notes app you already use on the device.

Camera or photos

The first time you add a picture, the system asks for camera or photo access. If you declined before, open the device settings for TOTEM Desk and allow Camera or Photos, then try again inside the app.

Requirements

TOTEM Desk needs iOS 15 or later. It runs on iPhone and iPad. Numbers you enter should use a dot for decimals if your keyboard shows one (e.g. 48.50).
